Fitness Benefits of Training With Other People

Training alone is all well and good if you don’t like social interaction. In fact, there are some cases in which training alone might be the best option for you and your individual needs/circumstances.

However, if you’re new to fitness and you’re not 100% confident with your knowledge of how and where to push your body in order to achieve the best results, training on your own is probably not the best option for you.

Here are 3 key reasons why training with a personal trainer and other like-minded people is far more beneficial for you than training alone:

1. More motivation, more results.

There are only a handful of rare people out there who actually possess the ability to motivate themselves to workout alone. For the rest of us, it takes a lot of pump up music, hashtag inspiration searching, new workout attire and self-pep talks to get our butts into gear.

The nature of working out in a group environment or with a personal trainer, is far more motivational than any of the aforementioned things. The concept of not wanting to let anybody down tends to overrule your guilty couch-cravings, thus helping you stay on track to achieve the results you want.

Training with people who truly believe you can achieve your fitness goals, and who are right there with you – elbow to elbow, sweaty high-fives included – will keep you on the right track and in the right mindset.

2. Less chance of injury.

Working out alone, particularly if you’re doing strenuous exercises, can be quite dangerous. With no one around to spot you or tell you that your back is bending too far or your knees are out of line, you could easily fall victim to a fitness-related injury. And we all know those things are just plain frustrating!

Signing up to train at a personal training studio drastically reduces your chance of injuring yourself, as you’ve got a professional watching over everything you do (not in a creepy way, but in a guardian injury angel kind of way).

3. Supportive, like-minded community.

By joining Striders Personal Training, you are essentially signing yourself up for an unlimited supply of support and assistance. And we’re not just talking about the constant support you’ll receive from our professional PTs. We’re also referring to the support shared amongst the incredibly kind and caring group of people who come to us seeking help.

We love seeing our clients encourage and support one another to achieve their goals, whether similar or different to their own. New friendships are formed every day in our studio, and we wouldn’t have it any other way!
