Do you train better in a group environment, than on your own? Joining a group class is a great way to workout with friends (new or old) and get fit in a fun, non-intimidating environment. But how do you decide which class is the best for you?

At Striders, we offer a range of classes to target different areas of the body and suit different needs. In this article, we provide a rundown of which one/s would best suit you.

Want to burn calories and lose weight?

Cardio is a great, low-intensity form of exercise. If you’re looking to burn off those dreaded calories, then try taking one of our cardio classes. If you’re a beginner, we recommend starting with our super low-intensity Cardio Burn class. For more advanced fitness fanatics, give Chaos a shot. We promise it’s a good type of chaos!

Want to have a bit more fun in your Fitness Classes?

If you’re looking for the type of class you can have fun and be a bit silly in, then our popular Boxstep is for you. By incorporating a combination of step and boxing exercises, this class tackles both your upper and lower body at the same time. Bonus points if you can hold back your laughter while throwing punches into the air and aerobically stepping like there’s no tomorrow.

Want to focus on a specific area?

If you have a specific area or body part that you’re most concerned about, or want to build the most, we have a few different class options for you.

Turbo is designed to focus on your larger muscle groups (i.e. arms and legs) in a direct and targeted way. It might leave you sore for a few days after, but we promise the results will be worth the pain.

Tums & Bums (as the name infers) focuses on your stomach, abdomen and bum regions. You’ll be amazed at how quickly the results appear after a few of these crunch and squat exercise classes.

Combat Carl melds martial arts movements, boxing and cardiovascular exercises together to target both your upper and lower body. Embrace your inner Jackie Chan in this fun, non-contact class.

Do it all in one go

Not sure which area you want to focus on the most, today? Why not give our 30 minute Bootcamp class a shot! A high-intensity interval circuit that covers all bases, we like to nickname it ‘the ultimate challenge’.

Stride Club

Want to take it easy one week, or add an extra workout to your weekly routine? We have a special Stride Club for walkers of all ages and fitness levels to get together and go for a good, old-fashioned walk. It’s always better to walk with friends than to walk alone!

If you have any questions regarding our group classes, pick up the phone and give one of our Studios a call or come in and chat to our friendly staff!
